At DAY8, we’ve always championed a human-centered approach over one-size-fits-all solutions. Those who know us know that for that reason we are not the biggest friends of big consulting’s modelized approach. We have seen it fail too often, and believe in a more individualized approach that is human-centered instead of a structure-driven approach (no worries, we still love structure ;)).
What is an ocean but a multitude of drops? (Quote from the book “Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell”)
While the challenges grow more complex worldwide and more and more of our clients aim to design human(ity) centered solutions as a result, their way to get there is often dictated by a non-human-focused approach driven by consulting companies that say that a new organizational structure will lead to a human centered mindset. But value chains already today do not follow the given hierarchical order, but the flow of least resistance. A changed hierarchy won’t change that and certainly not make a sustainable impact on people’s mindset. That is why we strongly oppose a structure-first-approach.
We believe that developing a flexible and growth-oriented mindset on all levels will drive change toward a more agile and human(ity) centered organization, no matter the structure around it. Besides this, transformational solutions should be co-developed by our clients and be based on their actual needs (#pull-principle) and not be a simplified model dictated by the external consultant.
This is why we became part of a new venture: oceandrop.net. In our new partnership, we’re committed to shaping more agile and human-centered organizations, emphasizing the development of a flexible and growth-oriented mindset on all levels. We become your sparring partner for positive change, your inspiration to develop the whole organization, from an individual to a human-centered culture.
We aim to shape tomorrow’s work, today.
